A full time Sales Representative position at MarkManson.Net, Los Angeles CA, USA
WHAT WE’RE BUILDING With over ten million followers worldwide and 25 million books sold in 75 languages, Mark Manson is one of the largest and most respected personal development brands in the world. We deliver evidence-backed, scientifically validated life advice and monetize our content across our podcasts, newsletters, YouTube channel and social content every month. We are in the early stages of building a wider media network where we will expand our ad inventory across multiple brands and IP.
WHAT WE NEED Someone who lives in the operational guts of advertising — the person who makes sure every campaign actually runs the way it’s supposed to. This role owns the machine behind our ad business: inventory, trafficking, scheduling, tracking, and attribution across every channel we monetize. You’ll coordinate campaign setup, creative delivery, QA, reporting, and billing verification to ensure every campaign launches on time and delivers in full. We’re looking for someone with a background primarily in podcast ad operations, but this role is also responsible for our newsletter, YouTube, and social media ads. If you’re the type who catches the broken link before it goes live and gets genuinely irritated by messy attribution data, keep reading.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Owning end-to-end trafficking of ad campaigns across podcast, newsletter, YouTube, and social.
- Coordinating campaign setup, launch, and troubleshooting across platforms (including Megaphone, Flightcast, or similar systems).
- Managing our ad inventory and scheduling calendar across all channels — including creative asset intake, talking points, approvals, and delivery timelines with internal teams and external partners — and expanding it as we grow the network across multiple brands and IP.
- Owning our tracking and attribution infrastructure: pixels, conversion APIs, UTM discipline, and event QA across Meta, Google, and YouTube.
- Pulling campaign delivery and performance data, building recaps, and calculating makegoods when campaigns underdeliver — so our sales team always knows exactly where every campaign stands.
- QA’ing every paid campaign before launch — targeting, budgets, creative, links, and tracking — so nothing goes out broken.
- Building and maintaining reporting dashboards for both ad delivery and paid media performance.
- Working with our internal finance team to ensure billing is accurate and we have verification of delivery, clean reporting, and smooth invoicing support.
- Flagging underdelivery, tracking breakage, identifying data discrepancies and resolving quickly before they become problems or wasted budget.
- Reporting performance and insights directly to our Head of Growth.
WHO I’M LOOKING FOR YOU MUST HAVE:
- 3–5 years of experience in ad operations, primarily in podcasting (a podcast network, hosting platform, or podcast-first media company).
- Hands-on experience with dynamic ad insertion and campaign trafficking (Megaphone, Art19, or similar); working knowledge of Meta and Google ad platforms.
- Deep fluency in tracking and attribution: pixels, CAPI, GA4, UTMs, and knowing when the numbers are lying to you.
- Fanatical attention to detail — you’re the person who catches the typo in the sponsor’s promo code before 500,000 people hear it.
- Self-sufficient and high agency. Comfort working in a small, dynamic, fast-moving remote team.
- Ability to learn new systems quickly, troubleshoot effectively, and communicate clearly.
- A sense of humor.
STRONGEST CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
- Experience inside a creator business, podcast network, or newsletter operation.
- Strong Claude Code skills to build custom dashboards, workflows, reports and spreadsheets.
- Familiarity with the health/wellness and/or self-help markets.
- Enough ad copywriting experience to know what makes an ad convert.
- Based in the Los Angeles area.
WHY YOU SHOULD WORK WITH US We are a creator economy unicorn: a fully independent media company doing millions in revenue with no outside investors, no corporate parent, and no reliance on a broader media network or studio — and we’re growing aggressively. While much of the media industry contracts, we believe we’re positioned to grow both aggressively and sustainably, expanding from one of the world’s largest personal brands into a full media empire. You’d be joining at the stage where the operational systems you build become the foundation everything else scales on. Few jobs afford you the opportunity to work on something that will reach and positively impact millions of people around the world. We are a group of deeply passionate individuals who love to build world-changing content and have fun while doing it. Come be part of it.
