MarketScale is building a new roster of talented podcast hosts and interviewers to lead conversations with executives, entrepreneurs and subject-matter experts across the B2B world.

We're looking for people with real experience behind a microphone or camera — podcasting, radio, television, broadcasting, journalism or professional interviewing experience is important.

The best candidates know how to make a conversation feel effortless while doing the hard work underneath: listening closely, understanding a topic quickly, asking the right follow-up question and getting a guest to say something genuinely interesting.

About MarketScale MarketScale is a publisher and media platform focused on B2B industries. We work with companies and experts across fields ranging from technology, healthcare and education to manufacturing, energy, transportation, food and beverage, retail and more.

Our job is to turn real expertise into media people actually want to watch, read and share.

That means interviewing some fascinating people about businesses, technologies and ideas most people never get a chance to see up close.

The Role As a MarketScale host, you'll be booked for remote podcast episodes, executive interviews and other guided conversations based on your availability.

Before a session, we'll give you context on the company, guest and subject so you can prepare.

Then you take it from there.

You might interview:

• a CEO about where an industry is headed;
• an engineer about a technology most people don't understand;
• a healthcare leader about a major change in patient care;
• a founder about building a company;
• a customer about a real-world challenge;
• an expert with a strong point of view about what's changing in their market.

Your job is not to be the star.

Your job is to create a great conversation.

What You'll Do

• Host remote video and audio podcast interviews.
• Interview executives, founders and subject-matter experts.
• Quickly understand unfamiliar industries and topics.
• Use provided research and briefing materials to prepare.
• Ask thoughtful opening questions and strong follow-ups.
• Recognize interesting moments and know when to go deeper.
• Keep conversations natural, energetic and on track.
• Make guests feel comfortable without making the interview feel rehearsed.
• Occasionally moderate multi-person conversations.
• Conduct guided interviews designed to uncover stories, opinions and ideas that can become additional media.
• Provide brief notes after a session when helpful.

Who We're Looking For We're especially interested in people with professional experience in:

• podcast hosting;
• radio;
• television;
• broadcasting;
• journalism;
• interviewing;
• on-camera media;
• live moderation.

You should be comfortable interviewing accomplished people without being intimidated by them — and curious enough to have a good conversation about a subject you didn't know much about yesterday.

Strong hosts tend to be:

• naturally curious;
• excellent listeners;
• quick thinkers;
• conversational rather than scripted;
• warm and engaging;
• confident without being overbearing;
• intelligent without trying to prove it;
• comfortable asking simple questions when clarification is needed;
• good at spotting the most interesting part of an answer;
• dependable and prepared.

We are not looking for someone who simply reads a list of prepared questions.

We want interviewers who listen.

What Makes This Different This is not a full-time studio job with a fixed broadcasting schedule.

It's flexible contract work.

You'll provide availability and can be matched with sessions that fit your schedule. Some hosts may work with us occasionally. Great hosts with strong availability may receive regular recurring opportunities.

You'll also get exposure to an unusually broad range of industries, companies and people.

If you genuinely enjoy learning new things and talking to interesting people, the work should be fun.

Technical Requirements

You should have:

• a professional-quality microphone;
• a quality webcam;
• strong lighting;
• a clean, professional background;
• reliable high-speed internet;
• a quiet recording environment;
• reliable access to a computer suitable for remote recording.

You must also be comfortable appearing on camera and hosting sessions during U.S. business hours when your availability permits.
