Tell the story of the data layer AI needs to do science
About Claims
AI ate the Internet, but it can't digest science yet. A paper is thousands of words of prose written for humans, but an AI agent doing research needs to know what was claimed, what evidence supports it, and how far to trust it. Claims turns the scientific literature into exactly that: every claim, tied to its evidence, as structured data that models and agents can query.
We're a startup and run as Subnet 111 on Bittensor. Since our mainnet launch on 28 August 2026, an open competition of miners has processed more than 10,000 papers, and every record was checked by our validator before it entered the dataset. The competition keeps raising the bar: miners keep finding ways to beat our own reference pipeline, and every win becomes part of the standard the whole network is scored against.
The team
Claims was founded by two professors of economics and a senior engineer.
- Philipp Koellinger, CEO, is a professor of economics and an experienced entrepreneur: founder of DeSci Labs and the DeSci Foundation, and co-builder of SciWeave with Ogban.
- Christian Roessler, co-founder, is a professor of economics and game theorist. He designs the incentive mechanism that makes the miner competition work.
- Ogban Ugot, engineering, is a senior backend and machine learning engineer. He built SciWeave, the Claims miner, validator and data pipeline.
You would be our first content and community hire and work directly with Philipp, who runs all of our communication himself today.
Our culture
We are a fully remote team. We have a flat hierarchy and move fast towards clearly defined goals. We think deep, don't shy away from difficult problems or conversations, and we ship relentlessly. What you write will reach a live community within your first weeks, and you own real things from day one. We are an AI-native company and expect you to work the same way: AI tools in your daily workflow, and the judgment to know when they are wrong and what needs the human touch.
About the role
Position: Content Creator & Community Manager
Location: Remote. Our team is spread across several time zones and Philipp travels a lot, so the weekly call with him, and the occasional team meeting, will sometimes fall outside your 9 to 5. You need to be flexible about that.
Type: Part-time freelance, about 12 hours a week to start, designed to fit around a degree. Start by 15 December 2026 at the latest. Six months to start; if the first one to two months go well, we widen the scope and the hours.
Every week something happens at Claims that is worth telling: competition results, new miners climbing the leaderboard, product changes, papers that went through the pipeline. Right now our CEO writes all of it himself, between everything else. We want one person who owns our content calendar across channels and makes sure the right audience hears about it.
The role has two audiences.
First, the Bittensor community. The people who follow Claims most closely are miners, validators, token holders and other subnet teams, on X, in our Discord and on a YouTube channel we plan to start. You need to speak their language: you know how this crowd reads, what it respects and what it ignores, and you can turn a weekly engineering update into something they want to read and share.
Then, scientists and potential clients. You help us broaden our communication to researchers and to the companies and universities that will use our data: biotech and pharma AI teams, research groups, builders of research agents. That audience lives on LinkedIn, uses Google, reads blogposts and traditional media, so it needs content and formats of its own, and you will develop them with Philipp.
Across both, you produce a short weekly podcast in which the team talks about what changed and why. You produce it end to end. If you are good on mic, you host it.
Responsibilities
- Own the cross-channel content calendar for X, Discord, YouTube, and LinkedIn: plan each week, write, schedule, publish and measure.
- Keep the Bittensor community engaged: turn the weekly dev update, competition results and leaderboard changes into posts, threads, visuals and short clips. Technical support for miners stays with engineering; you make sure the community knows what is happening and why it matters.
- Produce the weekly team podcast: agree the topic with the founders, brief them, record, edit, publish, and cut two or three clips for X and YouTube. Host it if it works on mic.
- Draft posts for Philipp's own accounts, which he edits and posts.
- Build the second phase: content and formats for scientists and potential clients on LinkedIn and as blog posts on our website, such as explainers, data stories and short demos.
- Track a few numbers each month and tell us plainly what works and what doesn't.
- Keep everything accurate and professional.
Required skills and experience
- You communicate naturally, in writing and on camera. You can show us something you created that people chose to read, watch or listen to: a thread, a channel, a newsletter, a podcast, a student magazine, anything.
- You are at home on social media and understand how to leverage it.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- You learn fast and you work AI-native: you use AI tools to draft, edit, research and produce, and you know where human input is needed.
- You can give about 12 hours a week for at least six months, in a steady weekly rhythm, and more once the role grows. We plan exam weeks together in advance.
- You are enrolled in a university, or the rest fits and you apply anyway.
- You are legally able to work as a freelancer where you live.
Nice to have
- You already take part in Bittensor or another crypto community, as a holder, miner, builder or regular reader.
- Basic video and audio editing (CapCut, Descript, Premiere or similar) and simple graphics (Canva, Figma).
- You have run something of your own with a regular cadence: a channel, a newsletter, a podcast, a community account.
- Experience in writing for a professional audience on LinkedIn.
- Curiosity about how AI is changing science.
You don't need marketing jargon, a large following or a polished CV. What matters most is how you think, how you write and how fast you learn.
What success looks like
- After month one, the content calendar runs every week without Philipp chasing it, and Philipp reviews rather than writes.
- The weekly podcast is out every week, and the clips get read and shared.
- The Bittensor community knows every week what changed at Claims and why. Engagement in Discord and on X grows and you can show it in the numbers.
- By month six, the first stream of content for scientists and potential clients is live on LinkedIn, and you have work you can show.
What we offer
- A fixed fee of USD 1,000 per month for an agreed monthly scope of about 12 hours per week to start, with scope, hours and fee growing after the first one to two months if results are good. You invoice us and handle your own taxes.
- You access our channels and the calendar, and work directly with the CEO every week.
- Your name on the work: hosting and production credits on the podcast.
- An inside view of a live Bittensor subnet, of AI for science, and of how a small AI-native team ships.
- Flexible, fully remote working around your studies. You are invited to our quarterly team retreats when it fits.
How to apply
Apply through this link: https://airtable.com/appTac4P1bGQooK3s/shrMZvWDNmAzQUTHs?prefill_Source=other&hide_Source=true. It takes about 25 minutes: a few practical questions, four short written answers, links to things you have made, and your CV. No cover letter needed. One of the written questions, so you can see the bar: "Pick one thing that happened in the Bittensor ecosystem in the past month. Write the post a subnet team should have published about it, in 280 characters, and tell us in two sentences why that angle."
Applications close on Monday 16 November 2026, 23:59 CET. We read every application after the deadline and reply to everyone. Shortlisted applicants get a short task and record a two-minute video; finalists have a one-hour conversation with Philipp, including a short mock episode.
We use AI tools to help us read applications. A person reads every application's summary and makes every decision, including every rejection.
Help us tell the story of the data layer that lets AI do science properly.
