Salary range: $24.00 to $28.00 (hourly rate) - subject to experience
About Lost Art Lost Art is a podcast made to help music artists. We work with bands and artists doing 1M+ monthly listeners to scale their brands, sell catalogs, and stop being broke. The Lost Art podcast is our front door: we interview artists, buyers, and operators in the music business to show artists how to win. Now we’re looking for a world‑class Podcast & Content Editor to own the edit and help turn this show into a machine.
Your mission: turn raw conversations into sharp, bingeable content that attracts top‑tier artists every week.
What You’ll Do Own the full pipeline from SD card to publish: Edit 1 weekly long‑form podcast episode (video + audio) Cut 1 YouTube Clip (7–15 min) from each episode Create 5+ short‑form clips/week (YT Shorts, Reels, TikTok) with captions, titles, and strong hooks Upload and schedule across platforms with titles, descriptions, and basic thumbnails (direction provided) Maintain a simple content calendar and tracking doc Support on‑set production: camera/audio setup, lighting tweaks, card management Occasionally travel for shoots with the team Build and refine templates (intro/outro, lower thirds, caption styles) so we get faster and better over time
What Success Looks Like In 30 days, you have: Edited and published 4 episodes on time Established basic templates for long‑form, cutdowns, and shorts Taken SD cards after shoots and handled everything else without hand‑holding In 90 days, you have: Weekly podcast + cutdown + 5 shorts going out like clockwork Clips that consistently hold attention (strong hooks, tight pacing) A clean, organized project and file system anyone could step into In 12 months, you have: Turned Lost Art into a consistent, recognizable show in the music space Helped double output (2 long‑form episodes/week) without sacrificing quality Become the go‑to owner of all post‑production and publishing for the show
You Are: A strong video editor with a reel that includes: High level long form clips that show off your editing skills. Specifically, that you know how to capture attention in the first 30 seconds of an edit. Compelling short form clips with strong hooks and optimized for retention. Fluent in Premiere / Final Cut / DaVinci plus caption tools Obsessed with pacing, hooks, and retention on YouTube, Reels, TikTok Local to Rochester/shelby/macomb Michigan and able to be on set 1 day per week Reliable: you hit deadlines without chasing Coachable: you take feedback, iterate, and improve fast Bonus: Basic thumbnail design (Photoshop/Canva)
Compensation & Structure Contractor / part‑time: ~20-25 hrs/week Flat monthly retainer for a defined weekly package Current range: $2,000–$2,500/month depending on experience and ability. We pay on a per-project basis. Separate shoot day rates for filming (half‑day / full‑day) Clear scope: 1 long‑form, 1 cutdown, 5 shorts + uploads per week, with defined revision limits
