Podcast Producer at Latent Space (Contract, Part-Time)

Fully remote: working with a USA-based team at Latent Space Podcast.
ABOUT LATENT SPACE Latent Space is a leading podcast, newsletter, and community dedicated to artificial intelligence engineering, attracting tens of thousands of engineers, founders, and executives each week. We dive deep into the technical, strategic, and cultural shifts in AI engineering, featuring interviews with the builders and founders shaping the field. Past guests include leaders from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google DeepMind, and a16z, and the podcast consistently ranks in the Apple US Tech top 30–50.
We are looking for our first Producer to help us scale. The role begins part-time, with the potential to expand to full-time if it’s a mutual fit.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Social Media (Desirable): Support with clip creation and posting across platforms.
- Topic & Episode Planning (Core): Research themes in AI engineering, propose topics and aligned guests, and draft prep docs.
- Growth & Operations (Core): Help source a podcast/public speaking coach, manage social clips, and suggest workflow/process improvements.
- Guest Booking (Core): Work with hosts to identify and secure high-profile and emerging guests; manage outreach, scheduling, and pre/post-interview communication.
- Publishing Workflow (Core): Own the process from recording to edit handoff to publish; manage thumbnails, QA spot-checks, and ensure on-time releases across podcast apps, YouTube, and newsletter.
- Audio Editing (Nice to Have): While not required (we have an editor), familiarity with Audacity, Screenflow, or similar tools is helpful for occasional tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Research Skills: Strong research ability with clear presentation of ideas.
- Organization & Communication: Excellent organizational skills and communication.
- Content Workflow: Ability to run a content production workflow from start to finish.
- Media Experience: Prior podcast or comparable media production experience (e.g., YouTube) preferred.
- Tool Familiarity: Knowledge of platforms such as Riverside, Flightcast, and Discord is a plus.
- Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, collaborative, and great to work with.
- Creativity & Humor: Brings energy, creativity, and a sense of humor to the show.
ROLE DETAILS
- Location: San Francisco preferred, remote welcome.
- Hours: Part-time contract retainer, with potential to transition to full-time if mutually agreed.
- Compensation: Monthly retainer, commensurate with experience (junior–mid level).
