Freelance podcast editor/audio engineer
A project or contract Remote Recording Engineer position
Fully remote: working with a UK-based team at FlightGlobal.
FlightGlobal is looking for a freelance podcast editor/audio engineer. This is a paid role.
First Flight is a new podcast by FlightGlobal and we are looking for a podcast editor/audio engineer on a casual/freelance contract. This is a fully remote role and would be good for an experienced professional looking for regular part-time work. This is not an entry level role, and you will be required to work closely with the host/executive producer and c-suite interviewees to manage the delivery of episodes. The role is split equally between audio engineer and editor, and applicants should have experience in both areas.
Experience, interest or knowledge in aviation is not required, but applicants should be familiar with an interview format podcast.
First Flight episodes are released every second week and are between 20-30 minutes long. The role will require you to attend all podcast recordings (which will be conducted virtually) to check sound, edit the recording including adding music/ads and supply audio clips for use on social media.
Please send your application to podcast@flightglobal.com with the subject line ‘podcast job application’ with details of your work experience in both areas. Cover letters are not required but should be a maximum of 100 words. Interviews will be conducted remotely via Zoom with FlightGlobal’s head of digital engagement and development, Amber Elias. If selected for an interview, please be prepared to present examples of your work and your rates. Experience producing social media content will be considered but not essential.
We will try to get back to all applications, but unfortunately we can’t guarantee this.
Hours of work will usually be in the UK timezone. Billing will also be done via the UK.
If you have any questions please contact podcast@flightglobal.com.
There are no educational prerequisites for this role. Applicants from the global majority, underrepresented minorities and non-traditional media backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
