Summary
Flatbush Cats, in collaboration with creative studio None Other, is launching a new limited-series podcast exploring the systemic failures of NYC’s animal welfare system—and the upstream solutions that offer hope.
We’re seeking a creative, editorially rigorous Podcast Producer & Co-Host to lead production and shape the voice of this 8-episode series. You will be responsible for scripting, producing, co-hosting, and editing the podcast in close partnership with None Other’s executive and creative leadership.
This role is not responsible for field reporting. Fieldwork and tape collection will already be in progress when you join. Instead, you will focus on crafting powerful, structured episodes from existing interviews and field tape, as well as recorded studio conversations and any additional interviews.

Role Overview
This part-time contract role blends creative direction, editorial leadership, and hands-on editing. You'll work under the guidance of None Other, who serves as Flatbush Cats’ fractional communications and production team. You’ll lead the creative execution of each episode and shape the overall voice and tone of the show. You’ll work closely with:
- Showrunner (None Other) – leads production calendar, episode outlines, manages approvals and launch planning
- Creative Director (None Other) – episode outlines, guides tone, story sensibility, and brand alignment
- Field & Story Producer – field reporting, delivers logged and time-coded selects from interviews and field tape
- Co-Host & Executive Director (Flatbush Cats) – collaborates on scripting and recording, provides subject matter expertise, and serves as the voice of the organization
Key Responsibilities
- Produce, edit, and co-host an 8-episode podcast from pre-production through final delivery
- Script and structure each episode based on provided outlines and logged field/interview tape
- Maintain journalistic rigor and creative clarity in every episode
- Conduct studio interviews and voiceover recordings (no field recording required)
- Serve as the co-host of the podcast alongside Flatbush Cats’ Executive Director
- Manage episode editing, shaping final episodes from a mix of raw field tape, interviews, and narration
- Collaborate with None Other to align episodes with broader brand, tone, and messaging goals
- Provide input on creative assets, titles, descriptions, and light show notes for distribution
Workflow Context This podcast is a mission-driven project with a clear editorial structure. Stories are mapped and scoped in advance, and field audio will be fully in progress at the time of your onboarding. You will enter the process with a strong foundation and, from there, bring structure, voice, and editorial polish to the material.
None Other will provide:
- Detailed episode outlines and tape briefs
- Access to organized, logged audio files
- A clear production calendar and delivery schedule
- Regular feedback and support through edit cycles
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in audio production, preferably in journalism, podcasting, or documentary storytelling
- Demonstrated ability to structure, script, and edit compelling narrative episodes
- Strong journalistic ethics and attention to accuracy and sourcing
- Experience conducting interviews and hosting recorded content
- Proficient in DAW of your choice (Pro Tools, Audition, Hindenburg, Reaper, Descript, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and in close collaboration with a small creative team
- Experience mixing studio-quality audio and managing full episode edits
- NYC-based or able to attend in-person meetings and recordings in Brooklyn
- Option to work in session ahead of key editorial deadlines
- Passion for animal welfare and social justice storytelling is a plus
Compensation & Time Commitment
- Part-time contract: approximately 20 hours/week
- Start Date: Early August 2025
- End Date: Mid-November 2025
- Flat fee or hourly structure negotiable based on experience
