A part time Marketing Manager position
Fully remote: working with a USA-based team at Entropy Media.
Salary range: $40.00 to $60.00 (hourly rate) - subject to experience
ENTROPY is an audio-first multi-platform production company. We curate and produce premium & evergreen content with a relentless focus on impactful stories, unique subcultures, and larger-than-life characters.
Entropy was founded by Anjay Nagpal, a long time media executive and producer who has produced or overseen films including Monkey Man, Joker, Bombshell, Greyhound, and dozens more. Entropy is currently in production on several narrative non-fiction podcasts, is expanding into “Always On” shows, and has a deep pipeline of podcasts in development which the company plans to eventually produce as documentaries, feature films or scripted TV series. This is a chance to get in on the ground floor of a new podcast company that’s part of a studio with enormous potential in podcasts, documentaries, TV, and film. The Opportunity We're looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to help us develop and execute marketing & publicity campaigns for our shows. This position is critical to the ongoing success of our podcasts and programs. The Marketing Manager is key to identifying, captivating, and retaining new audiences for our podcasts, beginning and expanding a subscriber base. They will update the CEO and Executive Producer on approaches and progress regularly and collaboratively. This role reports to the Head of Production and CEO. This position is great for ambitious mid-level candidates looking to work with a great deal of freedom to achieve results and grow with the company. We're eager to find candidates who love audio storytelling; so experience within the audio space is a must! Responsibilities:
- Create digital and traditional marketing assets to promote podcast shows, increase awareness and downloads, gain subscribers and build community
- Manage social media handles, email lists, and other fan/community engagement including on platform tools such as Spotify for Podcasters
- Identify and execute on cross-promotional opportunities (ad-swaps, feed drops, etc)
- Create interview opportunities for our hosts on podcasts with similar audience profiles
- Take responsibility for the growth of our audience and brand
- Develop integrated marketing strategies to promote podcasts, then execute, manage, report on, and optimize
- Oversee communication and coordination with clients and partners
- Manage ad-hoc company projects and tasks as needed
- Possess an entrepreneurial spirit
Requirements:
- Three or more years experience in building awareness for brands, products, or show, especially in the digital space
- Undergraduate degree (or beyond) in a related field (journalism, communications, marketing, analytics, business, etc.) Experience in:
- Growing podcast audiences
- PR/publicity
- Leveraging social media tools and platforms
- Accessing podcast and marketing industry networks
- The ability to present, advise, and educate the management team
- Media production skills including graphic design, video and audio editing a huge plus
- Experience using podcast tools Headliner, Chartable, Descript, etc.
- Experience using analytics tools like Google Analytics, Rephonic, Spotify for Podcasters, etc.
- Running tests to optimize marketing initiatives
