Podcast Ad Sales Representative (Commission Based)

Fully remote: working with a Canada-based team at Eighty Five Audio Productions.
About the Show: The Tony Parsons Show is an interview and storytelling podcast featuring one of Canada’s most trusted broadcasters. The show attracts an audience interested in current affairs, culture, and the stories behind the people who shape our country. We are now expanding our sponsorship and advertising program and are looking for someone with experience selling podcast ads.
Role Overview: We are looking for an independent contractor to sell podcast sponsorships and advertising for The Tony Parsons Show. This is a remote commission based role working with a Canadian based team. You will be responsible for identifying potential advertisers, making introductions, pitching the show, negotiating terms, and closing sponsorship agreements.
Responsibilities
- Identify potential advertisers and sponsorship partners
- Build and manage a pipeline of leads
- Develop and send outreach messages, pitches, and media kits
- Explain the value of advertising on The Tony Parsons Show
- Negotiate deliverables, rates, and contract terms
- Close deals and maintain ongoing relationships with sponsors
- Provide regular updates on outreach, leads, and active negotiations
- Work with the production team to ensure ad copy is delivered accurately and on schedule
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in advertising sales, podcast sponsorship sales, media sales, or related work
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Understanding of podcast advertising formats (host read, pre roll, mid roll, dynamic insertion, brand partnerships)
- Ability to work independently and manage a sales pipeline
- Existing industry contacts are an asset
- Comfortable working on commission with no base salary
Compensation: This is a commission based position. You will earn a percentage of all sponsorship and advertising revenue that you bring in. Commission rate is negotiable based on experience and scope.
