Position Overview:
We’re seeking a Part-Time Video Podcast Editor to join our dynamic team. As a video editor, you’ll be responsible for creating high-quality, engaging visual content from long-form podcasts and short-form video microcontent. If you’re a visual storyteller who thrives on editing with purpose and creating videos that hold attention, we want to hear from you.
This is a part time position with the potential to increase
Location: 100% remote.
Availability: Must be available during some Eastern Time Zone morning business hours (until 11am ET to join team meetings) and occasionally on weekends/holidays as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Edit long-form video podcasts and short-form content for platforms like YouTube and Instagram.
- Create scroll-stopping hooks, frame content for virality, and visually support the narrative arc.
- Integrate B-roll, captions, dynamic text animations, and strategic motion to enhance storytelling.
- Provide practical and tactful feedback to clients for improving their recordings for video.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure all content is engaging and resonates with the target audience.
- Stay up to date with trends in video content and use AI tools to optimize workflows and create high-quality output.
Apply If You:
- Are a master at video podcast editing, with an eye for pacing, visual design, and turning a talking-head episode into compelling video.
- Live and breathe YouTube and Reels, especially within the coaching and personal growth industries.
- Understand how to create visually engaging content that stops the scroll and grabs attention.
- Are proficient in Adobe Premiere and Descript, with advanced skills in adding B-roll, captions, and motion.
- Are familiar with video editing tools and plugins like AutoPod, FireCut, and Premier Composer.
- Know how to use AI tools (e.g., OpusClip) to generate professional microcontent at scale and elevate it with motion graphics, captions, and animations.
- Thrive in a collaborative environment, proactive about learning and improving your skills.
Don’t Apply If You:
- Are focused on building your own brand or agency and prefer not to commit to someone else’s vision.
- Think YouTube or short-form video is a trend, not a core business strategy.
- Aren’t open to testing or integrating new AI tools into your workflow.
- Can’t manage large video files or meet quick turnaround timelines.
- Aren’t available for team meetings between 9–11am EST a couple of times per week.
Required Tools & Skills:
- Adobe Premiere: Skilled in editing long-form video podcasts and creating microcontent. You know how to source quality B-roll, apply artificial camera movements, use SFX, add dynamic text animation, and craft compelling hooks.
- Descript: Able to use templates to quickly edit and repurpose episodes.
- AI Tools: Proficient in using tools like OpusClip for generating microcontent and elevating the visuals with advanced edits.
Working Arrangement:
Pay: Project-based for video podcasts, depending on the type of episode and experience.
Projects: XX podcast episodes per week on average, including video podcasts for YouTube and repurposed short-form video content.
Availability: Flexible hours as long as deadlines are met; work from anywhere.
Growth: Opportunity to expand into video and content strategy roles as DFP grows.
