Executive Producer / Head of Development, Deadset Studios
The role: The role of Executive Producer / Head of Development at Deadset Studios manages multiple podcast productions and develops new audio/video projects. You report to the Creative Director.
Location: Sydney preferred but would consider other capital cities for exceptional candidates. Deadset Studios has offices in Sydney and Brisbane. We operate a remote / hybrid workforce.
Perfect for a creative leader who:
- Has a passion for narrative story-telling and exceptional creative flair in developing formats and highly creative podcast and video series
- Is a scripting ninja who can turn out copy that links complex ideas into cohesive narrative, and can punch out plot-driven, story-first scrips that grip an audience
- Has finely honed editorial skills and exceptional taste in creating and directing compelling audience-focussed content and multi-layered episodes
- Comes with at least 5 years' experience working on video/audio/podcasts projects for both media houses and in commercial environments
- Has experience overseeing multiple production schedules at once with attention to detail and on time
- Loves working collaboratively in small teams and managing projects to deadlines in a time-pressured environment.
Candidates will be assessed against the following role capability requirements:
Business development, show development, and strategy
- At least 3 years' experience developing new podcast formats, new series and concepts
- A track record in pitching and getting podcast series commissioned and to market in both media and commercial fields
- Demonstrated evidence of strategic understanding of the podcast, journalism, and/or entertainment content landscape.
Podcast production
- At least 5 years' experience running multiple audio/video series at once, including complex series that are narrative in style
- Experience leading ideation sessions for stories, pitching and finessing episode concepts, and developing ideas for both national and global podcast series
- Experience as an Executive Producer in delivering creative podcasts, videos, and social content for on-demand environments.
Project management
- Experience managing podcast production schedules and production budgets, and oversight of resourcing/staffing of productions
- Demonstrated experience directing producers and sound designers to hit project milestones on time and experience reporting on outcomes for projects
- Ability to lead the development of and execution of a distribution and launch plan which seeds content and attracts audiences.
Teamwork
- Strong reputation as a collegial team member who contributes to a pro-active culture of useful feedback
- At least 3 years' experience working collaboratively with clients and content commissioners to deliver projects on time
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and on multi-media projects is desirable.
