Audio & Podcast Partnerships Lead
A project or contract position
Fully remote: working with a UK-based team at Cheerful Earful.
Salary: up to £10,000 (monthly rate) - subject to experience plus 50% commission
Cheerful Earful started in 2022 as a scrappy four-day podcast festival in a few South London pubs. It’s grown - a lot.
We’re now a 15-day international festival of funny podcasts across London, Melbourne and New York, plus The Golden Lobes, our podcaster-first awards celebrating the best comedy voices in audio.
We’re independent, grassroots, and built by people who actually understand podcasts - and now we’re looking for someone who really understands the audio industry to help us scale our partnerships properly.
This role is for you if you don’t just “work in audio” - you know the ecosystem.
You know:
- Your Riverside from your Descript (and when you’d recommend one over the other)
- Why a Rodecaster solves a different problem to an SM58
- The nuance between Memberful and Patreon
- The difference between hosting, distribution, monetisation and discovery
More importantly: you already have strong, warm contacts across audio and podcasting - and the confidence to turn those relationships into meaningful, creative commercial deals.
You might already have relationships with:
- Podcast platforms & hosting companies
- Audio hardware and recording tech brands
- Editing, transcription, analytics and creator tools
- Membership, monetisation and fan-funding platforms
- Podcast networks, studios or production companies If reading this makes you think “I know exactly who would want this”, we want to hear from you.
What you’ll be selling:
- Sponsorship of Cheerful Earful (May–October), The Golden Lobes (Jan–May), or both
- Audio-native partnerships that actually serve podcasters
- Recording & production partnerships
- Branded stages, lounges or podcast capture spaces
- Creator tools, trials and platform integrations
- Content, live recordings, socials, email and podcast tie-ins
- Smart, non-cringe brand activations that add to the festival, not clutter it This is not a logo-slap exercise. We’re interested in partnerships that podcasters notice and care about.
The deal:
- Freelance / commission-only
- 50% of every deal you close
- You control your time, outreach and pipeline
- No earnings cap No forced calls, no scripts, no beige thinking
We’ve already worked with brands across podcasting and audio tech. Now we’re looking for someone who can bring the wider industry with them - quickly, credibly, and creatively.
