Showrunner (Executive Producer) – full time, 1 year contract

Salary range: £50,000 to £60,000 (yearly rate) - subject to experience

Location: Chalk & Blade is based in London, but we could potentially accommodate hybrid working and out-of-London applicants.

We’re looking to expand our in-house team by welcoming a Showrunner into the heart of Chalk & Blade productions. The Showrunner will exec across a number of narrative series in production and have a voice in development around this area of content. The successful candidate will have a strong background as a journalist and experience leading narrative, scripted podcast productions.

Your Skills and Experience:

Minimum of 5+ years experience in journalism – either broadcast, print or podcasting, including a minimum of 2 years in audio production A deep understanding of compliance (legal and duty of care) and editorial standards is key for this candidate, as well as a flair for outstanding break-the-mould creative treatments This candidate will have a proven track record working across top notch narrative, scripted podcast series Proven desire to deliver creative audio with a distinct sound and style – focused on excellence across all elements, music, speech and archive A quality fanatic with attention to detail, comfortable being the final QC sign-off on a show liaising with clients and publishers Excellent script writing and editing skills A generous team leader and great communicator with excellent editorial judgement, who takes ownership of the process and is able to bring out the best in the production team. Proven track record of developing the skills of the production team and developing their ideas Fostering a collaborative, nurturing, respectful and safe working environment for the team Confident working not only with our internal team, but also with client stakeholders and a diverse range of potential contributors and hosts and their representatives. Experience of video/tv productions would be desirable
