A full time Host position at CGTN, beijing 北京, China
Salary range: 400,000 to 500,000 (yearly rate) - subject to experience plus health insurance+bonus
We're looking for podcast hosts with brains, voice, and vision—people who can lead long-form, humanities-focused shows with substance and personality. Whether you're a natural storyteller, a sharp interviewer, or both, this role gives you the space to build something original and enduring.
What You'll Do 1.Own the full cycle of a humanities podcast (pop culture, history, society, tech): Topic planning Guest booking Scriptwriting Recording Content review 2.Build a show identity that reflects your personal hosting style—narrative, interview-based, hybrid—you shape the voice and vibe 3.Mentor a young team, offering hands-on training in topic development, interviewing, and audio presence. 4.Refine production workflows to improve speed, collaboration, and quality control.
What You Bring 1.3+ years of podcast hosting or audio journalism 2.A portfolio that shows topic depth and audience engagement 3.Experience producing 10+ long-form episodes (30+ mins each) in humanities-related fields 4.Solid grounding in cultural topics—can break down complex ideas like “heritage preservation vs. modern communication” 5.Familiarity with the tone and standards of world-class podcasts (e.g., BBC In Our Time, 99% Invisible)
Bonus Points Genre-specific experience: e.g., combining traditional Chinese music with modern analysis Cross-platform storytelling skills: can write companion articles, plan live listener events, etc. Strong guest network: access to scholars, artists, or niche thought leaders Leadership chops: know how to inspire creativity and deliver quality under pressure
