We're looking for multimedia journalists who can own the full storytelling pipeline—from pitch to publish—and do it with flair. If you’ve got the journalistic instinct, creative muscle, and editing speed to match, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do 1.Report independently on cultural and social topics: think intangible heritage, contemporary art, major cultural events. 2.Create multi-format content for different platforms: 3.3–5 min doc-style videos 4.1-min viral short videos 5.Podcast specials 6.Own the process: from idea research, on-the-ground interviews, and mobile shooting to rough editing. 7.Develop content with viral potential to drive engagement and follower growth.
What You Bring 1.Native-level English + Journalism/Communications degree 2.3+ years reporting on culture/arts at top-tier outlets (e.g., BBC Culture, NYT Arts) 3.A portfolio that includes at least one video with 50K+ views 4.Strong video editing skills (Premiere / Final Cut); comfortable with subtitles, pacing, and multicam cuts 5.Confident with mobile shooting (framing, lighting, sound) 6.Sharp eye for culturally relevant international storylines (e.g., Hanfu going global, rural aesthetic revival)
Bonus Points
- Mandarin speaking/reading skills (basic interview or research-level)
- Social media following (e.g., 10K+ followers on an arts-focused Instagram account)
- Killer "internet sense": you know how to turn serious content into scroll-stopping narratives
- (think: conflict-driven titles + immersive storytelling + high-engagement endings)
- Adaptability: comfortable setting up makeshift shoots in remote spots (like northwest grottoes)
