A full time position
Fully remote: working with a USA-based team at Cardiff.

Salary range: $60,000 to $65,000 (yearly rate) - subject to experience plus health insurance and other benefits

About the Role

We are looking for a sharp, technically proficient Content Editor to become the visual voice of a growing conservative commentator and businessman. Your mission is to take raw, long-form interview footage and high-stakes political commentary and transform it into world-class digital content. You aren’t just "cutting out the 'ums'"; you are using pacing, motion graphics, and sound design to ensure our message cuts through the noise of the modern media landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Podcast Post-Production: Edit weekly 60+ minute interview episodes. This includes multi-cam video switching, professional-grade audio leveling, color grading, and inserting relevant B-roll or evidence-based overlays (articles, tweets, data points).

Social Media "Shorts" Mastery: Identify the most impactful moments from interviews and "reaction" sessions to create 30–90 second vertical videos (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts). You must be an expert in high-retention editing (dynamic captions, zooms, sound effects, and fast-paced cutting).

Political Reaction Editing: Rapidly edit "reaction" videos where the Principal responds to trending political clips. This requires a split-screen layout, overlaying the original source video, and ensuring the commentary is timed for maximum comedic or rhetorical impact.

Graphic Assets: Design high-CTR (Click-Through Rate) thumbnails and create basic motion graphics (lower thirds, title cards) that align with a professional, "corporate-meets-political" brand aesthetic.

File Management: Maintain an organized library of raw footage and finalized assets for easy retrieval and "throwback" content repurposing.

Technical Requirements & Qualifications Software Expertise: Expert-level mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro. Proficiency in After Effects (for captions/graphics) and Adobe Audition (for noise reduction/audio mastering) is highly preferred.

The "News" Instinct: An understanding of conservative political discourse. You should know which soundbites will resonate with our audience and which clips are likely to be suppressed or boosted by social algorithms.

Speed & Accuracy: Ability to deliver a polished "reaction" edit within 90 minutes of receiving raw footage.

Captioning Excellence: Mastery of modern captioning styles (Alex Hormozi style, clean minimal, etc.) that keep viewers engaged on platforms where audio is often muted.

Portfolio: A proven track record of editing podcasts and social media videos that have high engagement numbers.

Requirements

3+ years of experience as a video editor, preferably for a media brand, YouTuber, or political campaign.

Deep knowledge of export settings for various platforms (YouTube 4K vs. TikTok 1080x1920).

A "mission-first" mindset: You are comfortable working with conservative content and business-centric themes.

To apply

Please send your resume, cover letter, and a link to your portfolio to ethan@cardiff.co. Applications without a portfolio or specific examples of short-form social media edits will not be considered.

Please mention podnews.net in your application.
