ABOUT THE SHOW
Hosted by Dr. Catharine Young—a scientist by training who led national and global initiatives for the Biden Cancer Moonshot at the White House—alpha is a new podcast for and about women in STEM.
Born out of years of work at the intersection of science, innovation, and equity, alpha brings listeners honest, insightful conversations with trailblazing women who are leading breakthroughs, challenging norms, and shaping the future of their fields.
Women in STEM often share common challenges—feeling isolated, battling imposter syndrome, and navigating systems that weren’t built with them in mind. Yet despite this, they share a deep sense of resilience, brilliance, and purpose. alpha will spotlight their stories, surface the lessons they’ve learned, and create a space for connection, growth, and visibility.
This interview podcast is designed to provide support and inspiration across the career journey—offering community, insight, and a sense of belonging to listeners at every stage.
