Salary range: $120,000 to $150,000 (yearly rate) - subject to experience

The Role

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for audio and innovative programming? ABC, The ABC, Australia’s leading public broadcaster, is seeking a Manager, Programming & Strategy to support our large and growing podcast portfolio and ABC Listen app. The candidate should be business-minded, enthusiastic, efficient, and detail-oriented. This role will report to the Head of Audio On Demand. It is a highly cross-functional role that will work with many teams across the ABC to ensure we are balancing our strategic goals and achieving impactful audience outcomes for our content. Your strategic vision and keen understanding of audience preferences will drive the development and execution of compelling programming strategies across multiple platforms.

The Job

Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain infrastructure and organisation for our growing slate of podcasts, working with all relevant stakeholders and production teams. Refine and implement programming strategy for ABC podcast content. Track and evaluate audience acquisition, retention and lifetime value by show, genre, category, content type.

About You

You're an excellent communicator with extensive experience overseeing complex production slates, working with a range of stakeholders. You possess extensive experience identifying and responding to fresh strategic opportunities to reach new audiences.  

You'll have: 

Experience supporting the acquisition of third-party content, including assessment of portfolio fit and audience value. Demonstrated expert understanding of subscription entertainment business models, dynamics, and drivers. Proven track record in using significant editorial experience and audience engagement to improve the impact and reach of audio content.
