About the Role Ark Media is looking for a host for our upcoming daily news show. We're looking for someone with a background in news, strong editorial judgment, and experience in on-air presentation (TV, YouTube, podcast, or radio). The show will focus on geopolitics, the Middle East, and the Jewish world. Strong familiarity with these topics is a major plus. This person will be central to Ark Media's growth and impact, and we're looking for someone who genuinely shares our mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Record daily episodes Sunday through Thursday evenings, delivering polished, authoritative on-air performance.
- Review scripts and story lineups prepared by the producer; provide editorial input and approve final copy before recording.
- Bring context, perspective, and voice to each story - going beyond the script where appropriate to add depth and clarity.
- Conduct occasional guest interviews for special segments or breaking news coverage.
- Participate in planning conversations with the producer and Executive Producer to shape the show's editorial direction over time.
- Review and contribute to the weekly newsletter segment summarizing top stories.
- Represent the show and Ark Media at events, panels, and in external media appearances.
What You Bring Required Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in news journalism, reporting, or editorial roles.
- Strong on-air presence with experience in one or more of the following: television, podcasting, YouTube, radio, or live streaming.
- Excellent editorial judgment and the ability to explain the 'why' behind stories and trends.
- Deep interest in and knowledge of geopolitics, the Middle East, and Jewish world affairs.
- Proven ability to interview guests and engage audiences thoughtfully and compellingly.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced news environment with tight deadlines.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Startup mentality: able to thrive in ambiguity, move fast, and help build something new.
- Self-motivated and resourceful; able to work independently in a remote environment
- Comfortable working Sunday–Thursday evenings, Pacific Time (PT)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with video and audio production.
- Familiarity with social media content strategy and audience growth.
- Background in geopolitical analysis, Middle East affairs, or Jewish community media.
- Experience representing a media brand publicly at events or in press contexts.
