A full time position
Fully remote: working with a USA-based team at Airwave Media.
Company: Airwave Media Reports to: Chief Operating Officer Employment type: Part-time/Full-time Location: Remote Compensation: Competitive salary plus generous benefit package
About the role Airwave Media is seeking an experienced Ad Operations Manager to own and strengthen the operational systems behind our advertising business.
This role will begin with a deliberately broad scope. In addition to managing core advertising operations, this person will initially perform selected account-management responsibilities. That work is intended to provide a firsthand understanding of Airwave’s clients, campaigns, internal workflows, and standard business operations.
As that foundation develops, the role will increasingly focus on improving how work moves through the organization. Airwave’s business and technology ecosystem are continually evolving across platforms such as Google Ad Manager, YouTube, Megaphone, and others. We need someone experienced enough not only to operate effectively within that environment, but also to help define the processes it requires.
Working closely with the COO and other senior leaders, the Ad Operations Manager will help turn changing commercial needs into clear, scalable workflows. Over time, this person will also help train and support the Account Management team, establish stronger operating standards, and ensure that responsibilities are assigned to the right roles as the organization grows.
This is an opportunity for a seasoned operator who enjoys both running the business and making the business run better.
What you’ll do Lead advertising operations
- Manage the full operational lifecycle of advertising campaigns, from handoff and setup through launch, pacing, optimization, reporting, and completion
- Work across Google Ad Manager, YouTube, Megaphone, and other platforms used within Airwave’s advertising business
- Review campaign requirements, creative assets, targeting, tracking, inventory, and timelines for accuracy and feasibility
- Monitor campaign delivery and performance, identify risks early, and coordinate solutions
- Troubleshoot trafficking, creative, tracking, reporting, inventory, and delivery issues
- Maintain accurate campaign records and ensure operational commitments are clearly documented
- Establish and uphold quality-control standards across campaign execution
Learn the business through hands-on account support
- Perform selected account-management responsibilities during the initial phase of the role
- Develop a practical understanding of Airwave’s clients, products, revenue workflows, internal handoffs, and service expectations
- Participate in campaign kickoffs, client updates, reporting conversations, and post-campaign reviews when appropriate
- Translate client and sales needs into clear operational requirements
- Help maintain responsive, accurate communication while longer-term responsibilities and workflows are refined
These responsibilities are intended to build a complete understanding of Airwave’s operations. The long-term goal is not for this role to function primarily as an Account Manager, but to use that experience to improve the systems, training, and processes that support Account Management.
Define and improve processes
- Partner with the COO, Sales leadership, and other stakeholders to define how advertising opportunities move from sale through execution and completion
- Evaluate existing workflows and identify unclear ownership, operational gaps, bottlenecks, and recurring sources of error
- Create practical processes for sales handoffs, campaign intake, inventory validation, trafficking, approvals, reporting, billing support, and issue escalation
- Define roles and responsibilities across Sales, Account Management, Ad Operations, and other participating teams
- Build documentation, templates, checklists, and operating standards that can scale with the business
- Adapt processes as Airwave’s products, platforms, partnerships, and commercial models evolve
- Balance the need for consistency with the realities of a fast-changing media business
Develop operational capability across the team
- Share advertising-operations expertise with Account Management and other internal teams
- Help establish training and onboarding materials for current and future Account Managers
- Coach team members on campaign requirements, platform capabilities, delivery risks, and operational best practices
- Improve the team’s ability to anticipate issues and communicate effectively with clients
- Serve as a senior operational resource when campaigns or commercial arrangements require additional judgment
- Help leadership determine where responsibilities should live as the organization grows
What we’re looking for
- Significant experience in advertising operations, digital media operations, campaign management, or a closely related function
- Working knowledge of Google Ad Manager and familiarity with platforms such as YouTube and Megaphone
- Experience supporting multi-channel advertising campaigns and changing product offerings
- A strong understanding of the relationship between Sales, Account Management, Ad Operations, reporting, and billing
- Demonstrated ability to create or improve operational processes, not simply follow existing ones
- Strong project-management skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Confidence working directly with senior leaders and contributing informed recommendations
- Clear, thoughtful communication with clients, commercial teams, technical teams, and executives
- Comfort operating in an environment where systems, responsibilities, and priorities continue to evolve
- Sound judgment, personal accountability, and the ability to bring structure to ambiguity
- A collaborative approach to change, documentation, and training
Helpful experience
- Podcast, digital audio, video, or digital publishing advertising
- Campaign trafficking, forecasting, inventory management, or yield management
- Direct-sold and programmatic advertising
- Host-read, baked-in, dynamically inserted, branded-content, or cross-platform campaigns
- Ad measurement, attribution, third-party tracking, and performance reporting
- CRM, order-management, billing, or revenue-operations systems
- Training or mentoring Account Managers, campaign managers, or ad-operations professionals
- Supporting an advertising organization through a period of growth or operational change
What success looks like
During the first phase of the role, success means developing a thorough understanding of Airwave’s advertising business while reliably supporting active campaigns and selected account-management needs.
Over time, success will mean:
- Campaigns launch accurately, deliver reliably, and encounter fewer preventable issues
- Sales commitments are translated into clear and executable operational plans
- Ownership and handoffs between teams are well defined
- Account Managers have the training, documentation, and operational support they need
- Processes evolve alongside Airwave’s platforms, products, and commercial strategy
- Leadership has a trusted operational partner who can identify gaps and recommend practical solutions
- Airwave’s advertising operation becomes more consistent, scalable, and resilient
