PR & Marketing Manager - AU/NZ

We are looking for an experienced podcast-loving PR and marketing expert to join our growing team. You will be responsible for driving positive consumer and trade media coverage, brand, agency, content and product marketing activities and events. You will also work with our global social media manager to ensure our Australian podcasts are championed across social networks - taking the lead on content creation too when necessary. This role will be based in our Sydney office, and will partner with our local podcaster relations and sales teams, but sits as a member of the global communications and marketing team.
You’ll have excellent PR contacts predominantly across marketing trade and tech press, with contacts across entertainment and lifestyle media desirable. You will be adept at dealing with senior colleagues, partners and journalists alike. You’ll have excellent written and verbal skills, and above all, you’ll love podcasts! You’ll be skilled at managing multiple projects at once, as well as organising events, and handling partnerships and sponsorships. The role would suit an agency account handler looking to take the next step in their career in-house, or an in-house PR person looking to move up and join a thriving, fast-moving industry.
PR/Comms
- Work with the local teams to market Acast’s offering through PR to maintain our No.1 market position
- Oversee the implementation of global PR campaigns localising and optimising them for the region
- Be consistent at creating and maintaining relationships with relevant influencers, trade and consumer journalists, bloggers and digital community leaders
- Frequently monitor media in relation to the industry and competitors, maximising opportunities for positive brand PR
- Track and analyse PR metrics and success
- Ensure timely follow-up for press inquiries and interview requests
- Develop, rewrite, and edit materials such as press releases, Q&As, briefing documents, fact sheets, bylined articles and presentations
- Coordinate press interviews, video shoots and demos with spokespeople
Marketing
- Work with the local sales teams to market Acast’s offering to advertisers and media agencies to maintain our No.1 market position
- Support the local sales and content teams on executing owned Acast events, both internal and external.
- Create and edit blog posts, newsletters, web & social media copy/content, press releases and other written materials as required
- Manage any relevant Aus/NZ award entries
- Champion Acast’s products locally through localising and executing product marketing campaigns
- Localise global marketing campaigns for the Aus/NZ market, especially for podcasters
- Define quarterly messaging themes to connect and define the output of Aus/NZ marketing
Skills and experience
- Public Relations experience - in-house or agency, minimum four years
- First class communication, interpersonal and multitasking skills
- Candidate must work well both independently and as part of a team, and has natural affinity for streaming media, podcasting, audio, and tech
- Well-developed and well-maintained media relationships
- Must have fantastic organisational skills and an innate ability to stay on top of multiple projects at once
- Event management experience is highly desirable
- Must have very strong project management and decision-making skills
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and unstructured, deadline-oriented environment
- Collaborate with brand, product, community and social media teams on product launches and marketing campaigns
- Ability to work as part of a global team
