Salary range: $68,000 to $75,000 (yearly rate) - subject to experience plus on a pro-rata basis plus 15.4% ABC super fund

The ABC is looking for an Intern with experience in community radio and/or who has made at least one episode of a podcast. If this sounds like you, we would love you to apply.

About the Internship

This is a 12-week part-time (3 days per week) paid internship for someone with a passion for podcasts that are creative, entertaining and that connect with audiences.

You will learn the basics of editing, production and research, have the opportunity to contribute to Audio Studios podcasts and content, and upskill and challenge yourself in a friendly and supportive environment of podcast specialists.

About the ABC Audio Studios team

Audio Studios is the ABC’s specialist digital first podcast unit. It has produced some of Australia’s most popular, distinctive and award-winning podcasts including: Ladies We Need To Talk, Unravel, Conversations, Days Like These, Short & Curly, No Feeling is Final. We’re a smaller team of 20, but we go big. We’re creative and collaborative, we value unique perspectives, and we take risks to break new ground, always with the audience as our focus.

About You

We are looking for an intern with an ongoing passion and interest in podcasts, storytelling and a commitment to finding stories that represent a broad diversity of the Australian community.

You will also have:

You’ll be directed to an online application form where you will be asked to complete some questions. These questions include contact details, diversity and inclusion information. We’ll also ask if you require any adjustments to support you throughout the selection process. You will also be asked about your podcast interests and to submit a piece of audio so we get a better understanding of who you are and what motivates you to become a podcaster.

If selected, you will be contacted by end of March 2025 You will be invited to complete an initial phone or video call interview. You may also be asked to complete a second interview in the weeks after. Expected start date for this position is April 2025 and the position will go until the end of June 2025.
