The Role
The ABC is looking for a Manager, Podcasts to lead the development, production and release of original, distinctive and engaging podcasts to reach new audiences. You will collaborate with the Head of Audio On Demand and oversee Audio Studios, the ABC’s specialist podcast production unit, behind hit shows like Mushroom Case Daily, Conversations, Walkley-winning true crime investigations from Unravel, and 2024 'podcast of the year' Ladies We Need To Talk.
The Job
Develop, produce, and launch podcasts as part of the ABC’s strategy aimed at increasing audience. Ensure editorial excellence and foster creativity across all audio output. Identify and develop new talent and innovative audio formats. Provide strong leadership and build a skilled, motivated team. Build relationships with podcast creators and third-party producers. Collaborate to maximise reach, promotion, and distribution across platforms. Manage production timelines, budgets, and implement efficient workflows. Stay updated on industry trends and support diversity, inclusion, and safety. Participate in senior management to drive strategy and organisational growth.

- Experienced editorial leader across audio, digital, and media platforms
- Skilled in managing complex audio projects on time and budget
- Expert in digital-first audio formats aligned with strategy
- Proven ability to lead creative teams and create audience-focused content
- Strong strategic leadership, stakeholder, and communication skills
- Effective staff management with focus on development and feedback
- Demonstrates professionalism and personal drive
