PODCAST PRODUCER JOB DESCRIPTION
A Story Worth Telling is looking for a Podcast Producer!
About us ASWT is an LGBTQ+ Platform that celebrates Queer representation in film and television. Through watching stand out cinematic moments and speaking to actors, director and creatives about their work, we answer the question: ‘what does it means to feel seen?”. We have over 200k Subscribers and followers across YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Patreon and social media. This is a great time to join us as we are growing!
The Role and Responsibilities The producer will be an integral part of ASWT, helping to curate and grow our podcast show, as well as have oversight on the wider platform and its activities. The Ideal candidate should have experience in producing content from start to finish, with the below skills:
- Researching and scripting episodes with a focus on engaging and topical issues, as well as creating fun, and ‘click worthy’ content for viewers and listeners.
- Forward thinking and a keen eye for trends and awareness of upcoming LGBTQ+ Specific movies, television, events or people who have upcoming projects. Scheduling a roster of upcoming content or ideas.
- Resourceful and ‘can do’ approach to talent outreach, networking and securing and booking high profile guest features on the podcast and negotiating their appearance requirements with agents, and reps where needed.
- An editorial eye for detail, reviewing cuts and identifying stand out moments for social content or sensitive moments that should be reviewed/ held.
- Ability to represent ASWT in its best interests for the purposes of working to secure potential brand/ paid sponsorships, deals and access to events, etc
- Ability to work at a fast pace when needed and be flexible around the clock or with tasks. Should also be able to work both independently on specific jobs and as part of a team, working with us as collaborators when pitching ideas, concepts, or creative thoughts throughout the process.
What we’re looking for:
- The ideal candidate should have some experience working with online/ social/ podcast content or a similar area.
- They should understand and have an awareness of social and performance trends, tactics and approaches in podcast and online video content and be able to analyse and apply these.
- They should be a strong communicator and highly personable when interacting with guests etc.
- They should have exceptional organisation and time management skills with the ability to prioritise correctly and meet quick turnaround deadlines.
- They will also have either a connection to, or passion and awareness of the importance of wider LGBTQ+ issues, stories and the general approach / ethos that we aim to present as a platform that pushes these narratives. They should also have an interest in Film, television or pop culture/ entertainment.
40-45K (dependant on experience) 12 month contract (full time - part time flexibility can also be a discussion if needed) London based ideal (open to discussion if not local) Mostly WFH and in studio on recording days.
