- Oct 28: Fountain has announced the launch of Fountain for Podcasters, a new podcast hosting service. Fountain for Podcasters distributes video to supported apps (including the podcast app Fountain itself), and also supports streaming payments and paid subscriptions - using open standards to do so, including RSS, Lightning and Nostr.
- Aug 18: Podcast app Fountain has updated its Home tab, added a “like” button, and launched other new features.
- Aug 4: Rachel Fountain has been made Head of Podcasts for Australia’s Nine. She comes from News Corp Australia and Deadset Studios.
- Jul 14: Fountain has posted a new version of its podcast app, with a refreshed player design, video playback using alternate-enclosures (Podnews Daily supports this, but only a YouTube-style ‘fake video’), and support for Chromecast and AirPlay.
- Jul 9: Support for HLS video has been added to podcast host Transistor. It’s currently supported by TrueFans or the Fountain beta.
