- Nov 14: BlogTalkRadio is to close on Jan 31. One of the earliest podcast and live-streaming hosts, it launched in January 2006. It merged with Spreaker in August 2017; Voxnest bought Spreaker in 2018; iHeart bought Voxnest in 2020. Most recently it’s been part of Triton Digital. In August this year, it hosted 3,293 podcasts.
- Oct 26, 2020: iHeartMedia is to acquire Voxnest. Voxnest will provide dynamic ad serving for iHeartRadio's podcasts and analytics. Voxnest also owns Spreaker, the 6th largest podcast host with 61,000 shows, and BlogTalkRadio, with a further 8,300. Terms weren't disclosed.
- Sep 18, 2019: The "PodVader" Jay Soderberg has been announced as Executive Producer for Locked On Podcast Network, a daily local sports podcast network. Jay most recently worked with Voxnest and BlogTalkRadio.
- Feb 1, 2018: Dynamo has launched - "a new, more dynamic way to monetize your podcasts by allowing you to add pre, post-, and mid-rolls to each of your episodes that refresh automatically at each play": much like a Google AdSense for podcasting. Operated by VOXNEST, who acquired Spreaker and BlogTalkRadio this month.
