Infinite Dial Canada 2018 release date announced

• Edison Research’s Infinite Dial Canada 2018 will be unveiled on April 4th, at 2pm Toronto time. It’s the first release of the data especially for Canada, eh. You can register (and get the right timezone for you) over here.

• Who serves RSS feeds for podcasting? And who serves the podcast media itself? Afterpod does the analysis on 250,000 podcasts.

• Podcast Movement has revealed, in an email, their first sixteen speakers. We suspect they’ll add them to the website shortly. From our supporter list, we’d highlight Todd Cochrane from Blubrry.

• Listicle: the UK’s Radio Times (which, confusingly, is mainly a TV listings magazine) lists the 39 podcasts you need to listen to right now.

• Spotify have launched a new simple service for small businesses to advertise on the service. Radio creatives Get Carter Productions are less than impressed at the concept. (A brilliant client-made ad is included in this blog post)

• Cabana posts (via email) a list of five things every podcaster should have.

• CatchUp_OnDemand is a long and weighty email newsletter for Australian media watchers (but relevant for everyone)

• Binaural sound appears to be the perfect technology for podcasting, and at Radiodays Europe, Penelope Thomas discussed her project Precipice Project. There’s a bit of audio at the AFTRS website.

• Also at Radiodays Europe were the hosts of Nancy, an LGBT podcast returning in 2018, explaining why their podcast is different and what makes it a success.

• Lots of podcast chat in Radiocentre’s See Radio Differently podcast this week from Radiodays Europe: Geoff Lloyd and Ed Miliband from their Reasons to be Cheerful podcast, BBC Radio boss Bob Shennan, and podnews editor James Cridland (but I’m at the end so don’t worry)
