  • The New York Times has launched its first-ever marketing campaign for The Daily. The ads appear in Chicago, Los Angeles and Portland, and feature a prominent Apple Podcasts badge.

  • The BBC’s Director of Radio has posted a blog post arguing for an industry chart for UK podcasts. He notes that podcast charts “indicate what’s trending which is great for audiences but content creators and distributors want to know reach and value.” In an opinion piece, our Editor writes that we need a global industry standard for podcast consumption, including all podcasts consumed in individual territories.

  • The Apple Podcasts badge is nearly, but not quite, the same as the Google Podcasts badge; and chances are you want to display them next to each other. Nathan Gathright has kindly edited both SVGs to “match the other” in terms of alignment and border width/colour; you can download the edited versions from his Dropbox. We’ve updated the SVGs on our website accordingly, including our link badge generator.
