Teacher's Pet reaches new milestone, and talks and learnings from Podcast Movement #PM18

Teacher’s Pet, a podcast heavily promoted by The Australian, has now achieved 4 million downloads.

• The #2 global podcast platform Spotify published their financial results. The company has 83m premium subscribers, and 180m monthly active users - up 40% and 30% year on year. The company has 3,969 employees.

• Talkshoe unveiled a new version during Podcast Movement (alongside lunch with a very tasty mac and cheese). It now includes auto transcripts, among a host of new features.

• A feature on the New York Times’s Michael Barbaro in Vanity Fair, making The Daily sound like an accidental success.

• Dan Misener from Pacific Content took advantage of the Podcast Movement crowd to ask questions about audience acquisition - specifically, how podcasters got more audience.
