New podcast digs into weird news in local newspapers

• Sounds Profitable is to launch a podcast to talk about adtech. Bryan Barletta announced the new podcast in this week’s newsletter with Podscribe. It’ll be produced by Evo Terra and hosted with Whooskhaa. Sounds Profitable is part of Podnews and you should subscribe.

• ProSound reviews the Sennheiser MD 435 and MD 445 Microphones, calling them “amazing”.

• The Feed from Libsyn has unveiled the latest data from Libsyn’s network, claiming Apple Podcasts was still #1 with 64.5% of all mobile downloads in November. The data relates to mobile downloads only, and the company tells us that these are not based on IAB certified downloads.

• In the UK, music streaming is still increasing - as are vinyl and cassette sales. Vinyl LPs now account for 18% of all albums purchased in the country. Perplexingly, more cassettes were sold in 2020 than in any year since 2003; though they’re still 0.6% of all sales though.
