Spreaker and BlogTalkRadio merge, and Art19 raises $7.5m in funding

Spreaker and BlogTalkRadio are to merge. “The combined entity is comprised of more than 50,000 podcasts”. Francesco Baschieri of Spreaker becomes President of the combined entity.

Art19, a large podcast host for large corporates like the NYT and Vox, has raised $7.5m in funding.

Podcast Movement is currently on, and there’s a big radio presence there, as radio companies wake up to the potential of podcasting. RAIN reports from the event, and says that the overall feeling is more serious.
