Show notes: only 60% of apps support links

• Testing how show-notes display in over 40 different podcast apps, Podnews has uncovered vast inconsistencies between different podcatchers. Only 60% of apps support links to websites. Spotify is the worst app to display show notes, based on total downloads; Pocket Casts and Overcast were the best according to our tests.

• Podcasts are more popular than music playlists, says a international study run by MIDIA Research. Meanwhile, Sounder uses Google stats to claim that podcasts are more popular than blogs.
