Realm buys Pinna and Lipstick & Vinyl

• Scripted podcast company Realm has acquired kids production company Pinna and podcast producer Lipstick & Vinyl. Terms were not disclosed. The company will also represent shows from Rebel Girls and GoKidGo.

• Podcast Movement this month looks like it’ll be a busy one: the host hotel has sold out, though the organisers have secured discounts at nearby hotels. You can also now record your podcast at the event.

• Podster has sold an adaptation of Italian true-crime drama I Dossier del Mistero to a Spanish podcast company. It’s the third announcement for the company in a week.

• Oregon Wine has launched a podcast finder on its website, linking to more than 500 episodes from 20 different podcast creators, with each winery displayed on a map.

• “Give me some 1980s electronic music with plenty of drum”. Facebook has released the source code for AudioCraft, an AI-tool to generate both music and sound effects. The code is on Github.

• What type of podcaster are you? PodScore uses data from 1,600 podcasters to give you a personality type, and a tailor-made roadmap to improve.

• Podcast website builder Podpage is now supporting “Podcasting 2.0” features like hosts, transcripts, and funding links.

• In the UK, new radio audience figures showed a growth in radio listening (1% more people, listening 1.8% longer). Speech stations were down, though; from Radio 4 to LBC, Times Radio and talkSPORT. News avoidance is one potential reason; but another reason could be the launch of many high-quality podcasts.
