  • The power of podcasting. Comedy podcast We Fact Up got sent the above email recently; who’d have thought that Dave and Redd’s “discussion and general stupidity” could help in this way?

  • All aboard! US commercial radio broadcaster Beasley Broadcasting has named four Podcast Captains - Mike Thomas (Boston), Chuck Damico (Philadelphia), Steve Black (Detroit), Roy Brown (Charlotte). The job is “helping build the company’s podcasting presence, including partnering with local content providers” - the four named are also employed as hosts or Program Directors.

  • Podtrac has released July 2018's top (US) podcasts. No change in the top 3; TED Talks Daily gets a new entry at #20.

  • Filling a gap in health-related podcasts in the UK comes Deliciously Ella: The Podcast, which Acast launched today.

  • B7 Media, a UK independent producer, has announced a deal with Eyewear Publishing to produce a range of audiobooks. (44% of Americans have listened to an audiobook; the same number as who’ve listened to a podcast - Edison Research Infinite Dial 2018)
