• EXCLUSIVE: Podtrac have published their top 20 (US) podcast list for November 2019. American Media LLC have two new entries: Us Weekly’s Hot Hollywood is new at #5. Today, Podnews can reveal that these numbers also include Android users just visiting their website, and never playing the podcast at all.

• Apple Podcasts’s market share tumbled by 10% in 2019, according to Podbean, which has posted a Big, Fat 2019 Podcast Statistics and Trends Roundup with all the numbers from the podcast hosting platform. The company has also posted a number of “top 10” lists based on their data.

• Triton Digital has launched a new podcast ranker for Latin America. It includes “average weekly downloads”, with the #1 achieving 886,977.

• Eric Nuzum has thoughts on public radio’s part to play in podcasting. “Podcasting, as an industry, is starting to recognize and address some new emerging systemic problems that will become growing concerns over the next few years … and public radio has a unique opportunity to lead, innovate and win”, he adds, in an opinion piece in Current.

• A new version of Pocket Casts is rolling out - with easier access to episode notes and chapters; a customizeable toolbar; a revamped Up Next list; and a new indigo coloured theme. It’s free.
