Podcasts: most trusted, say registered voters

In the US, podcasts are the most trusted media source for registered voters - beating newspapers, TV, AM/FM radio or social media. That’s according to new research from Voxtopica - which also says that 63% of registered voters say that podcasts change their opinions on issues or topics in the news. Nearly half of all registered voters in the US listen to podcasts each week.

YouTube announced a new “hype” function to help boost videos from new creators, and earn them revenue as well. The gamification feature has been on beta test in Brazil, Taiwan and Turkey. We suspect it’ll work just fine for podcasts consumed within YouTube as well.

Headliner is now able to automatically post podcast videos to Threads and X, the company has announced. That means that all social media services are now covered by the service.

Another team formerly of Pacific Content is working with former clients. Jeff Blundell and Jenn Sunnerton of Broadcast You have hired three former Pacific Content staffers, and are working on shows like Tell Me What Happened from OnStar, and another show from Vertex. “The goal is to bring the same incredibly high standard of content that PCC did, but deliver it with a more modern, more fulsome approach,” we’re told.

In Norway, the nominations for the Prix Norge - for Norwegian radio as well as podcasts - have been announced. The awards will be given out at the end of the Lyddager conference, on Oct 17-18. (Our Editor is one of the speakers, and would welcome beer suggestions).

Tech company Arm and National Public Media have announced a new podcast, called Tech Unheard. The monthly show starts early next month.
