A new global podcasting conference has been announced. Podcast Day 24 will be on June 7, and will be hosted in Sydney, London and North America. There’s a full interview with organiser Matt Deegan in Podland this week.

The most used podcast platform in Spain is Spotify, with a 48.2% share, according to data from marketing companies SIEM and Prodigioso Volcán.

The New York Times’s Audio department is to be “more fully integrated” into the newsroom, according to a memo tweeted by Cliff Levy, who’ll be assisting with the process. While Caliphate isn’t mentioned by name, the memo also describes 'new procedures to vet ambitious audio series’.

The British Podcast Awards has announced new categories, including a “Best Lockdown Podcast”. You’ll be able to enter from Feb 22; more than 11,000 people watched their live ceremony last year.

The 16th Annual Podcast Awards have added a few new categories: fiction, history, leisure and true crime. The awards will also be honouring the five most influential podcasters for podcasters, and the five most influential podcasters for listeners. Registration opens on Monday.

Mamamia has won gold in the Native Ad Awards for their kids podcast That’s Incredible for Subaru.

PodMatch now has over 4,000 members. It’s one of the platforms which promises match podcasts with guests.
