• The Podnews Report Card is back for a fourth year. The big podcast platforms are keen to know how they’ve done over the last year, and we’ve a quick survey for you to fill out. We’ll share your thoughts directly with the big platforms, and also at Evolutions in early April. Please spend ten minutes and fill it in: no registration is required, and we’ve built it for speed.

• Another day, another ad agreement for podcasts from BBC Studios: this time, Digitize New Media has been announced as ad partner in Ireland.

• Defacto Sound’s Dallas Taylor, who is behind Twenty Thousand Hertz, posts on LinkedIn that “I’ve been worried about the YouTube-ization of podcasts”, saying that automatic takedowns for entirely legal music use could spell the end for the show.

• The Top 50 over 50 Podcast Awards are taking entries from now until the end of February. The awards aim to recognise experienced voices in the industry.

The Imperfects, one of Australia’s most popular and thought-provoking podcasts, returns today for a seventh season - at its new home, LiSTNR. The podcast was with ARN’s iHeart. The new season starts with legendary Australian surfer, Mick Fanning.

The Teen Commandments is brand new today from the UK’s Sara Cox and Clare Hamilton. Sara is a well-known broadcaster in the country; Clare Hamilton is her friend of over thirty years, and when it comes to parenting teens, they know it’s part comedy, part survival guide, and all chaos.

Scam Inc from The Economist explores the sophisticated, multi-billion dollar industry of online scams, and launched last week. The first three episodes are free to listen to. “The rise of the online scam industry is the most shocking story you’ve never heard of,” said Sue-Lin Wong, the newspaper’s SE Asia correspondent. “It’s taking over whole cities and countries as it spreads around the world.
