Exclusive: App company Maple Media, which purchased podcast app Player FM on Apr 30, has bought another: Android podcast app Podkicker. Podkicker has had more than 500,000 downloads (Player FM has more than 5 million). We’re told a formal announcement is to be made in the coming weeks.

Megaphone will now offer attribution for ads booked through the Megaphone Targeted Marketplace, following an agreement with Podsights.

Todd Juenger, an 'media analyst’ for Bernstein, has decided “it’s unlikely Spotify will generate much earnings from podcasts”, and has downgraded his rating on the stock. It’s not the first time he’s talked Spotify down this year. In 2018, he said Disney would fail to launch a successful streaming service; it had 28.6m subscribers in the first three months, was the highest trending search term last year and is beating Netflix for app downloads in the US. Analysts, eh?

AdWorld says it’s the world’s largest online advertising event, scheduled for Nov 2-4. It has more than a hundred speakers and over 15 tracks, including one on podcasting. You can get an earlybird pass now for only $39 (the final price will be $299).
