Podcasts are highly unusual: podcast advertising is recalled just as much by female listeners as male listeners, according to a study released today by Sounds Profitable. That’s not the case in TV, radio, or even Reddit, where there is significant male bias in recall. “[Podcasting’s] gender parity in recall isn’t just a fun statistical oddity,” says Tom Webster, “it’s a window into something genuinely unique: a medium where your message is equally likely to break through regardless of which half of the population you’re trying to reach.”
