  • Nine (all male) podcast hosts interviewed Donald Trump last year, helped swing their mostly male audience to a Republican win in November. You’ll have seen many of them at events for the inauguration last weekend (with Joe Rogan in the room while Donald Trump was sworn in). A group of reporters at Bloomberg, including Soundbite’s Ashley Carman, reviewed nearly 1,300 hours of footage to reveal what they talk about, how the network works together, who they appeal to, and how they’re now building support for Donald Trump’s political agenda.   • KQED has launched a “real time” news podcast called The Latest, which updates dynamically throughout the day with the latest news. The podcast is built using technology from Spooler, which launched in 2022.

  • The Podcast Show London tells us that prices are going up on Feb 1. PODNEWS10 saves money on selected delegate passes. Podnews is a media partner; our London-born Editor is on the advisory board.

  • SXSW has announced a new set of speakers, including plenty of familiar names from the world of podcasting - David Duchovny from Fail Better, Scott Galloway from Pivot and others, Marc Maron from WTF, Baratunde Thurston, who podcasts How To Citizen, and This Week in XR co-host Charlie Fink. The event is in Austin TX, Mar 7-15.

  • Apple is hosting a free event in the Apple Store, George Street, Sydney NSW Australia with podcaster Jemma Sbeg - sharing her podcast journey for The Psychology of your 20s, and diving into the neuroscience of productivity and mindset.
