Goalhanger’s co-founder Jack Davenport spoke with our Editor, James Cridland, at Podcast Movement. He told a story of discovering via the company’s email inbox that one of the fans of The Rest Is History is Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney - who was listening to an episode with Tom Hanks. The moral of the story - put your email address on your podcast’s website: and check your inbox: you never know who’s listening.

At Podcast Movement, Triton Digital released its “Next-Gen” podcast ranker and planning tools.
- The data now includes additional information from the company’s Demos+ service, including the top 200 podcasts (calculated via survey, so including every show and platform). Comparing the top 9 shows in both Triton Digital’s survey-based tool and Edison Research’s existing survey-based top 50, all shows appear in roughly the same order; Joe Rogan is #1 in both of them. “Focusing spend on just the Top 50 podcasts limits total possible reach to only 49% of all monthly podcast consumers,” Triton says.

Secret free movie: Age of Audio will have a special screening at Podcast Movement tonight at 6.30pm in the Sounds Profitable Lounge (available to everyone). The film details the history and changes in the podcast industry, featuring interviews with many of podcasting’s greats. Podnews has seen it - it’s worth a watch (and see if you can spot our three-second, audio-only cameo!)
