Censored? Joe Rogan Experience is missing episodes on Spotify

• Spotify is now the place to find the Joe Rogan Experience - at least, most of it. 46 episodes haven’t been switched over, including conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, far-right journalist Milo Yiannopoulos, and anti-semite Owen Benjamin. Rogan had promised the entire JRE library will be available. The first show on Spotify is with Duncan Trussell, and lasts over five hours, Rogan posts on Instagram; which also gives the date of 1 December as being the date when the show will be removed from other platforms.

• In his podcast, Adam Curry says he’s building something called Podcast 2.0. It’s a new podcast that outlines an alternative to the Apple Podcasts directory. “I think we’ve figured out some incentive for developers,” he says. He also says he’ll be on the first show from Joe Rogan’s new studio in Dallas.

• Spotify is now rejecting new podcasts served with an http (non-secure) audio addresses, according to emails seen by Podnews. Audio served using http rather than https also doesn’t play in Chrome on embedded players. Apple Podcasts expressed a preference for https back in May 2018, but have not yet insisted on it.

• The Vintage Video Podcast spent $350 on ads for their show in podcast app Overcast. It got them 119 subscriptions, they say: “The campaign was worth what we paid for it”.
