Now, it’s IAB Podcast Measurement Guidelines v2.2
-
The IAB Tech Lab has released a new version of its Podcast Measurement Guidelines for comment. You’ve until March 23 to get your comments in.
-
v2.2 of the guidelines add a requirement for companies to be clear whether they use a fixed or rolling 24-hour window for measurement; a requirement to update “safe” IP address lists such as those for known large corporations or universities; clarification that an ad can only be considered to be “delivered” if the overall episode download was valid; and a requirement for “practices to be put in place to account for mass market technology changes in measurement reports” (possibly the result of Apple’s changes in iOS 17).
-
Only five companies have undergone IAB certification in the last twelve months; and ten companies are only certified to v2.0. The IAB had required companies to recertify annually, and the website ordered that “re-certification must be completed by December 31, 2023 to maintain compliant status“; no companies have recertified so far this year, and that requirement was removed from the IAB website yesterday.
