Data: Bridge Ratings release “Radio’s New Media Gauntlet”. Includes tracking of podcasting use (who listen to at least one a month). Interesting to compare “favoriteness” and actual consumption. They’re predicting in 2019 podcasting will have a cume of 42%, whereas radio will have fallen to 60%.

The IAB Tech Lab have released their revised podcast measurement guidelines and invite comment. There doesn’t appear to be any connection to the analytics promised by Apple, other than one mention.

“Podcast industry watchers love to decry the lack of social media features in most major podcast apps, but there’s actually no market for such a tool”, says Simon Owens in a video. The lack of transcript means I’ve not bothered exploring why he thinks that, other to opine (quite unfairly since I’ve not watched) that he’s wrong: I share episodes and series quite freely through social media, and have switched podcast app because of that desire.
