Podcast host Resonate Hosting has added in-app storage to store raw audio and music files forever: you get 2TB of storage with the plan for $9.99/month. (Google Drive is $12.49/month, incidentally).

In Brazil, mobile phone network TIM is to offer Deezer GO, a version of the music streaming app with free data. The product includes podcast access.

Ximalaya might not float on the New York Stock Exchange after all. Chinese authorities have, apparently, asked the company to launch in Hong Kong instead. The company owns Himalaya, which it apparently injected $100m into, though maybe it didn’t.

Fable and Folly have announced their Q3/21 slate. Co-founder Sean Howard: “There’s something for everyone. How about an award-winning, non-binary and women led actual play podcast? Or an experimental podcast where art comes alive? Or take a dip into a Gilded Age alternate history of murders, birders, and a missing whale.”

Spotify is to make another podcast exclusive on its platform. Irish podcast The 2 Johnnies goes exclusive on Spotify from 14 June. James Cator, Head of Studios for Spotify UK and Ireland: “There’s so much great talent coming out of Ireland and we’re massive fans of Johnny and Johnny: what they’ve achieved in such a short space of time as the fastest-growing Irish podcast is pretty inspiring!”

The Qube is a streaming app of music and podcasts produced by Black, Brown and Queer and Trans People of Color (QTPOC) creatives. It’s on Indiegogo, raising $75,000 to launch.
