• Working on an ad campaign for a client? Acast’s Ross Adams shows off how they helped promote the Google Pixel.

• Before Christmas, some Megaphone customers saw a significant decrease in download numbers. “Something seems off”, one told us, “…and I can’t get a straight answer as to why.” The company has now sent a message to users saying that they’d found a bug; and that it’s fixed - affected dates are Nov 21 to Jan 13. Payouts were unaffected.

• It’s emerged that one of those laid-off by TuneIn this week was Steve Gaysinskiy, who was responsible for maintaining TuneIn’s integrations with different partners. It was the latest in a series of unreported layoffs at the company, which still offers a podcast directory in spite of not accepting new shows since February last year.

• Google’s NotebookLM podcast hosts have had to be retrained to stop them being rude when interrupted.

• Writing in Forbes, Bernard Marr wonders whether AI podcast hosts will “destroy the very soul of broadcasting”. Maybe they could be rude when you interrupt them?

• GreatPods lists its “top and best 24 of 2024”. Get well soon, Captain Ron.

New on Airwave: In The British History Podcast you’ll learn about people from British history - who they were and how their desires, fears, and flaws shaped the scope of this island at the edge of the world. And some of those desires are downright scandalous.

Trump 100 is new from the UK’s Sky News starting this Monday: following Trump’s first 100 days in office. The President-elect has pledged to tackle 59 issues “on Day One.” The podcast will examine whether, when, and how these promises translate into reality, and the impact they’ll have.

Trumponomics is new this week from Bloomberg. The series is hosted by Stephanie Flanders, Bloomberg’s Head of Economics and Politics, who will be joined each week by her colleagues in Washington D.C, Wall Street and beyond to discuss the impact of the Trump administration’s economic policies and plans on the global economy.

Trump’s Terms was launched by NPR in late November - a rebrand of the previous show, Trump’s Trials.
