Someone’s told him that he’s gonna rise up, while others enter the room where it happens just to get down to the lobby.

• Acast held a “Capital Markets Day” for investors, setting updated financial targets for the company. You’ll find the presentation and the full webcast on Acast’s website.

• Kast Media, still in bankruptcy, released its monthly operating report for March. The company made $25,211 in ad sales; and a further $5,130 in premium paid subscriptions.

• Podcasts with a YouTube channel attract bigger sponsors, suggests Rephonic in a study of podcast sponsors.

• Our feature story yesterday about tens of thousands of phantom downloads from Google News audio briefings has prompted another media company to get in touch with us saying they’ve seen “the exact same issue for several months now”.

• The PodMatch Podcast Network has hit 150 shows, and has been opened for another 50 to join. The $6/month service offers courses, training and events, as well as growth and monetisation.

• True Native Media and Veritonic have released the Sound Strategy Guide - a free guide to “demystify podcast advertising from every angle - defining podcast ad types, and tools for generating an effective ad.”
