Ear Buds sign Welcome to Patchwork

Melbourne-based podcast network Ear Buds has signed comedy show Welcome to Patchwork for their second series. The podcast was a finalist in NOVA Entertainment’s 2017 emerging podcast competition, Podquest. They’ve also moved to use podcast hosts Omny Studio. It’s a fortnightly podcast “where old friends Christian, Dion and Josh dissect their everyday lives”, and has a dedicated fan base. Here’s the latest episode.

It describes Cliff Ravenscraft, who runs a “thriving, six-figure business” and describes the ways he monetises the podcasts he makes.
A quite savage piece about Apple’s non-appearing HomePod speakers. It transpires that they won’t be available for developers to access, unlike the competing Amazon Echo and Google Home. It will, however, play Apple Podcasts flawlessly.
A podcast’s fans have bought a billboard for their favourite podcast. Chris Booker’s Perez Hilton Podcast is now adorning a billboard somewhere in Los Angeles.

A 94-year-old podcaster, Harry Leslie Smith, gets coverage from CBC Radio One. “Hopefully I can change the world’s thinking about refugees … We are all human beings.”
