The Daily Show launches a new podcast; Podfollow celebrates growth

• The Daily Show is launching a podcast miniseries, The Daily Show Podcast Universe

• Podfollow, a free URL that redirects your listeners to the right podcast app on their device (Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, your website) has just had its 1,000,000th click thru. The service now offers free stats as well as automatic social images and has announced more features in the new year.

• Dan Misener has chatted with Dave Zohrob from Chartable about SmartPromos, a way to work out whether that appearance as a guest on someone else’s podcast actually meant your own podcast got downloads. (Disclosure: Chartable are sponsoring Podnews in January)

• A new podcast studio has opened at Zip Zap Media, in Savannah GA, USA.

• The Google Podcasts app is no longer available on Chromebooks, we’ve discovered. You can still use it on the web, though it lacks a front page or subscription management there.
